Velma Danielson
Velma Danielson has over 35 years of experience in water infrastructure, policy, planning, and management. She joined Advanced Groundwater Solutions, LLC in January 2025 as Director – Project Development where she leads efforts to develop new project opportunities and supports existing projects. She previously worked for ICF Jones & Stokes, and formerly Blanton & Associates, prior to their acquisition in November 2022, as Water Resources and Business Development Lead for Texas. Before that, Velma worked on various projects as an independent consultant, including serving as president of Southwest Texas Water Resources. She also worked at the Edwards Aquifer Authority (EAA) for more than 20 years, serving as general manager after holding other management roles in the organization. Velma also worked for the City of Austin Water and Wastewater Utility and the Assistant City Manager’s Office.
Velma has managed permitting and environmental reviews for water and wastewater infrastructure projects and managed species conservation planning projects. She has also worked on regional water planning, regional flood planning, and groundwater joint planning projects. As EAA General Manager, she led the organization in carrying out its mission to design, develop, implement, and administer policies and programs aimed at managing, enhancing, and protecting south-central Texas’ primary water resource, the Edwards Aquifer.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Texas Lutheran University, and a Master of Public Affairs degree from the University of Texas at Austin Lyndon B. Johnson (LBJ) School of Public Affairs. She is also a graduate of the Governor’s Executive Development Program at the LBJ School of Public Affairs.
